Faster. Stronger. Quicker. More Powerful. Measured.

Youth Performance Training
Youth Performance Training

Coached, semi-private-style training in small groups for athletes ages 9 through college, built on real testing. Your athlete's speed, jump, and force numbers are measured on day one, trained on purpose, and retested so you can see exactly what changed. Over eight years in Ammon, and over 150 of our athletes have gone on to play college sports.

Most programs tell you it's working. We show you.

Every athlete is tested across four categories on a structured battery, the same one we use to write their program. Results come back to you as a FitRight Athlete Card, and the block is retested so the next program is built on what actually changed.

1. Test: baseline day one

Sprint speed, jump height, reactive strength, force output, and movement quality. Real instruments and the latest tech, not a stopwatch, and never a guess.

2. Train: coached, semi-private, small group

Two to four sessions a week: one or two field sprint days and two to four strength and power days, grouped by age and stage. Strength days are programmed to prime the sprint days, not fight them.

3. Retest: see the change

The FitRight Athlete Card updates. The weak category gets the next block's attention. Parents see numbers move; athletes see themselves get faster.

The four categories on every FitRight Athlete Card

  • Production — Keiser pneumatic leg press: how much force the athlete can make.
  • Expression — Countermovement and broad jump: how much of it they can use.
  • Ground contact — Reactive strength index, flying 10, top speed: how fast it turns into sprinting.
  • Body strength — Pull-ups and push-ups: the base that keeps the rest safe.

Professional-level development, on the floor every day

Head coach Seth Mortensen spent three seasons with the Seattle Mariners organization as a Performance Enhancement Specialist before bringing that work home to Ammon. He credits the coaches who shaped him, and he programs the way they taught him to: mechanism first.

  • Seattle Mariners — Performance Enhancement Specialist, three full seasons (2010–2013).
  • M.S. Kinesiology — Master's in kinesiology and biomechanics; pre-med biology background. Sprint mechanics is the specialty.
  • CSCS — Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, the credential for coaching athletes, not general fitness.
  • 20+ years — Coaching athletes from age 5 through college, with over 150 who went on to play college sports.
  • The gym — Keiser pneumatic equipment, a Tuff Tread incline sprint treadmill, and a testing program that has run here since 2018.

Athletes move up the ladder as they grow

Programming is written for the athlete's age and development stage and referenced directly to their own FitRight Athlete Card. Every stage starts with overall health and availability to perform in their sport, and we make it fun. The athlete has to learn to enjoy the process. Just because something is ridiculously hard doesn't mean we can't find joy in it.

  • LittleGiants (ages 9–11) — Movement, coordination, and the habit of training. The entry point.
  • Junior Sports Performance (ages 12–15) — Age-appropriate strength and movement foundations.
  • Sports Performance (ages 16–19) — The core program. Speed, strength, jumping, and force production, 2x to 4x a week.
  • College Sports Performance (ages 19–22, or in college) — Higher-level programming for athletes preparing for, or competing at, the next level.

Questions parents ask

What happens at the assessment?

Your athlete is tested on the battery above, you get their first FitRight Athlete Card and a walkthrough of the results, and you leave with a specific recommendation: which program, how many days, and what the first block will focus on.

What sports?

Literally all of them. Football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, track, baseball, softball, wrestling, cheer, gymnastics, hockey, swimming. Speed and force production transfer; the programming is built around the athlete, not the sport.

How often do athletes train?

Most families choose two or three sessions a week. We add one speed session a week on top of whatever you choose, because we believe that strongly in our speed program. The schedule runs after school and evenings.

What does it cost?

Plans are monthly and depend on program and days per week. We go through pricing at the assessment once we know what your athlete needs. No long-term contract.

My athlete has never lifted.

Good. Most start here. Every athlete learns to produce and dissipate force safely before load goes up, and every session is coached.

Can a friend or teammate come?

Yes, anytime. Just let your coach know. We also run Bring A Buddy weeks several times a year.
